A Weekend of Beer, Festivals & Fireworks

If you don’t have any plans for this weekend – you should by the time you’re done reading this!  From the River Days Festivals, to experiencing the “Best Of” Detroit, we’ve got a little something for everyone.

For you beer lovers…

Foran’s Grand Trunk, in downtown Detroit, is celebrating the official first day of the summer with a new line up of new Dark Horse Brews on draft. Starting at 5 pm on June 20th, Michigan-style Crooked Tree I.P.A., Raspberry Ale, Plead the 5th Imperial Stout, The Rod and a variety of other brews will be on draft at Grand Trunk. So if you are a beer or ale lover, make sure you kick off the start of summer at Foran’s Beer Celebration! Click for details. 

Summer Beer Fest Benefiting Camps Casey is coming to the Royal Oak Farmers Market this Saturday night in efforts to put your drinking skills to good use.  So raise your glass while raising funds for local kids with cancer.  Sample nearly 100 delicious brews, enjoy beer-inspired cuisine, music and more.  Click for tickets.

Take it to the River…

Starting this Friday, the Detroit Riverfront will be hosting the annual River Days Festival! The three day festivities will include carnival rides, food, activities for all ages – and even for your furry friends (check out Sunday’s Pooch-a-Palooza), sand sculptures, musical performances, models of ships and boat tours! Experience the Best of the Best

You voted and now you get to taste test your way through the "Best Of" Detroit, sponsored by Hour Detroit Magazine.  From music and celebrity guests, to the top food and drinks in town, come out and join us for an evening celebrating all that our city has to offer. Click for details.

A Roaring Good Time

Join the Detroit Zoological Society as they host their annual, spectacular fundraising gala on the grounds of the Zoo.  The evening will feature a carnival-themed evening with amazing food, delicious drinks, magic and entertainment. Click for details.

The Wow Factor

The weekend isn’t over yet – because come Monday, June 25th, the skies of downtown Detroit will light up with this year’s Fireworks spectacular…and we have your front row seats to the show.  Join us at the VIP Viewing Party at the Port Authority (directly in front of the fireworks barge) and enjoy an open bar, phenomenal food from Opus One and fun entertainment all night long.
