How long have you lived there? 3 years

How would you describe your style in decorating your home? It's  "Haute Hand-me-down" - most of my furniture comes from my family and has been passed on to me, pieces that lasted through my older brothers use is now in my house. I reupholstered my parents 30-year old sofa for my living room and my bedroom headboard is a screen that adorned my parents room years ago. I've picked up a few pieces along the way on my own but none of my furniture matches. I think that's what I like most about it. Sentimental traditional pieces and then anything else I've accumulated.

Favorite room in the house and why? Closet/Study - I turned the second bedroom in my house into my closet and study. It's the biggest walk-in closet I've ever had. I write a blog and freelance as well, so I'm usually posting an article and getting dressed for work simultaneously each morning.

Are you originally from this area? No, I am originally from South Carolina.

Have you lived in any other cities? I have lived in Spain and Washington, D.C.

Why do you love living where you do (city wise)? I live, work and play in Royal Oak, having everything in one area is so easy. I enjoy my complex because it provides a quite reprieve from downtown but it is still close enough to walk.
